Dear “Regarding My Marriage”,

I apologize for being so long in responding back to your questions.

No one can tell you when to divorce your husband. That is between you and God. However, there are certain things you may want to consider in such a decision. First and foremost, is it honoring to God to remain in such a relationship? Is it truly honoring to Him? Second, are you denigrating yourself by remaining in such a relationship? Is it demeaning to you? Are you sacrificing your own dignity and integrity? Third, is this doing damage to your children by remaining married to him? Are you setting a wrong example for them? These are just some of the questions you want to be able to answer for yourself.

If you do decide to divorce your husband, this may allow the Lord to open up new avenues for you that are currently closed. But, one thing that you can rely on is that He does “cause all things to work together for the good, for those who love Him, for those who are called according to His purposes.”
