I was reading through the list of hindrances to people who've left a cult. The first thing that stood out to me was where it says "Difficulty thinking critically".
Where does an ex-cult member begin? What changes have to occur in order to be able to think critically?
What is actually meant by "thinking critically"?
I'm trying to imagine it. For example, one of the hardest things for me to swallow and finally see, was that the Family was a cult. Even after 8 years, I find myself daily sifting through my thoughts. I can see that some thoughts & even reactions are a direct by-product of being in the Family for nearly 30 years.
I actually left it in heart about 5 years prior to the physical exit.
