Fran and I are about to head off into the boreal in a week or so. Usually, by now, we've had several trips out back but it has been a very cold and wet spring - so much so that we don't even have mosquito hatches yet. There'll be hell to pay once we get a bit of heat though. Fran looks great up front a canoe in her comfy yellow chair, backlit and framed by boreal spruce and pines, at peace within now after the turmoil of the Fam and the past. Yup, the drip of a paddle, the lapping of gentle ripplets, the beautiful black of a boreal lake, the warmth of sunlight on all things beautiful -- we're in there!

Nice flower pics! I'm sure your trips out back are inspiring and refreshing. I was in the bush cleaning out my pond ditch the other day and came across a ladyslipper. That was a nice surprize!

How's the birding been?
