Thank you all for your responces and sorry for posting on the wrong board, I don't come here very often.
Although it sounds like it is possible to become close to people who have never been in the circus I suppose it must just take that bit of 'faith' to overcome the fear of rejection that I have and be honest with someone. I'm scared of being hurt and looked at like some kind of curiosity instead of being accepted for what I am.
