Did you read the Pogo comic strip growing up? Pogo made me downright proud of my southern heritage, him bein' from the swamps of Georgia and my folks bein' from the swamps of Alabama and all. Reading this comic in the Sunday paper was a family ritual through the 50s and 60s.
