As a fellow Buckeye I am disturbed, but not surprised, by this article. Some prime real estate is available for cheap, but the area has no future.

THE LIST
Fastest-dying cities in the United States

August 7, 2008

Ohio and other parts of the Rust Belt dominate Forbes' list of the 10 fastest-dying cities in America.

These metro areas face dwindling populations, painful waves of unemployment and stagnant economies.

Early in the decade, the unemployment numbers in these areas were similar to those elsewhere in the country. But a crushing downturn for automakers has changed that.

1. Canton, Ohio

2. Youngstown, Ohio

3. Flint, Mich.

4. Scranton, Pa.

5. Dayton, Ohio

6. Cleveland

7. Springfield, Mass.

8. Buffalo, N.Y.

9. Detroit

10. Charleston, W. Va.
