This is really happening and is putting so much stress on the marriage its manifesting itself in physical symptoms in both the husband and wife,besides all the contention it is causing. The Lord has already told both husband and wife in advance what to do but any time the husband brings up what the Lord has already shown it is met with resistance and multiple arguements ensue. The son in question I do believe is fully aware of the trouble he is causeing and has tryed to cause trouble many times in the past but now since his back is broken feels enabled to be at ease to continue his unbroken pattern. The wife feels it is now her mission to stand by the side of this son no matter what and that its only love to do so. I know because it is happening to me!
