but I genuinely feel sorry for the poor animal. Certainly they are also to be respected and their feelings considered.
I get on our sons case all the time about the way he treats the dogs. He always comes back with, "He's just a dog." and I have to lecture him for 10 minutes on what that (no pun) entails.
