I was really impressed by the Eurostar and TGV trains we were on. It will be interesting to see what happens if gas prices in the US don't go back down under $2.00 per gallon. At some point there has to be more demand for quality public transportation in cities like Los Angeles.

Every few years there is talk about doing a high speed train between L.A. and Las Vegas, but it never shows up.

In Seattle and New York, the public transportation is as good as it is in the places we visited in Europe. I know it can be done here. It's just not done enough.
