Before I read everyone elses response here, my first reaction was..."She should just shake off the dust of her feet and beat a path out of there."
When I got to this part "The school has cut my hours down to only 5 hours a week and gives me no credit whatsoever for the after school hours that I put in sorting books, cleaning the library and conducting three after school classes ...... I receive no pay for any of the after school hours worked."
My thought was, "Why is she doing this?" Of course, I fully understand your feelings towards the children. Totally understand. But maybe you could contact the parents and teach the children in one of the parents homes? or somewhere else?
Then I remembered a dream you posted here a couple of years ago. Do you remember? You dreamed that everyone was doing their own little thing and not taking care of the mundane stuff, not appreciating you and in spite of this you kept emptying their garbage cans? It was something along those lines. Katies point about us demeaning ourselves after being put down for so many years really struck a chord in me. I have seen it in myself so many times, but that's a whole nuther story.
So let me tell you about a dream a stranger had about me and told it to me.
Just to give a little background first: Before I met the person who had the dream, I was provisioning like a fool for the afore-mentioned lackeys (see Open House) and working like a slave on a galley. I mean, I was in mid menopause, lonely, weak, depressed, having crazy menopausal induced thoughts and stressed beyond belief.
During that time I made a trip to the States for some reason and while I was there, I followed up on a girl I'd witnessed to about 4 years previously. She was a Christian and sort of like us. Floating. When I went to her place she invited me to spend the night.
The next morning when we were having breakfast she said. "I think the Lord gave me a dream about you." Now keep in mind that she knew absolutely nothing about what I did which convinced me that her dream was supernatural.
In her dream she saw these giant potted plants stacked up, one pot inside the other all the way up to the ceiling. At the top of the high stack sat this little potted plant that was spraying water all over the other ones below it.
She said, "I knew that that little plant was you! You're giving out more that the Lord expects from you and you're going to dry up!" She was very emphatic about it and said, "You need to rest more."
Jane, you are doing the same, hon. That dream wasn't just for me. You're watering a bunch of fatted plants who are more than happy to suck you dry and spit you out when you're finished. Trust that the Lord loves you and that it is never His will for you to be shoved down and oppressed by these so-called "Christians".
That's what finally opened my eyes to leave the Circus. Again I don't mean the peons at the bottom, but the blood suckers. When I looked at them, in my heart I knew that they were not acting like Christians. Thus, they were NOT Christians.
Little Red will get a very wrong opinion of Christianity if she stays around such bad examples.
I'm praying for you, dear heart. You're a good girl and the Lord is going to make things better for you. Big hug.
