Tim, I don't think I know you, wanted to respond to your post. I trust that what you are doing with your family is a valid, and needed work put on your heart by God. I believe that you are a sensitive, caring and unselfish person for dedicating your life to a cause most worthy. I just can't understand why you would proclaim your association with the "Family" as strongly as you did, and something that you were proud of. I, myself am very ashamed to have participated in something so horrible, and destructive both mentally and spirtually, as well as physically as in the case of so many children who were beaten, raped, and taken advantage of in the name of following leadership. When I weigh all the things together, it makes for a pretty heavy decision on the side of the Family for evil and not good. Your heart does not seem to be that of Maria and Peter and their present co-horts, neither do I hear much of Berg's ideas in there except maybe for billing yourself as getting your training in the FAmily Missionary whatever, which sounds a bit deceitful, but hey. If I were you I wouldn't want to go public with the fact that I was tithing to the group that originated flirty fishing, Masturbating to Jesus, and Listening to Dead people. Anyway, bear in mind that most of the posters on this board are ex members with a lot of issues about the past, and they can't really see it the way you do that easily. Tim, I have a daughter still in the family, and pray for her every day that she will leave.
