Does that mean megabyte and gigabyte?

Other than Millenium (even Win98 is better)it is possible that you have a ram problem. Although your computer says you have a certain amount it could have gone bad over time. A friend of mine had Millenium and experinced the same thing as you. The only thing that solved it was upgrading to XP.

One other consideration is the age of your motherboard, processor and hard drive. All of these things fail in time and it depends on how often you use them. Heat buildup eventually degrades everything and if your computer is over three years old or so then it may be time for a new one.

I'm not an expert by any means but I have built and burned up more computers than most people have owned. Not really a good way to learn but I rarely make the same mistake twice.
