Matt do you have a Photo Shop or Photo Suite installed on your computer? If so you can resize them with those programs. Also you can right click on a picture you have in your "My Pictures" section and chose "Edit" then chose "Attributes" and it should give you Height and Width and you should set the Height and Width no higher than 800x600 or 600x800 depending on the picture.
