And not by master craftsmen. I think it was built by the original owner himself. He built it to maximize the use of the landspace. So it has a strange polygon shape. The front wall is four feet wider than the back wall and so the side walls are not parallel. But there is a typical French charm to its non respect of convention.

I have seen a few pictures of what it originally looked like. There is some decorative stonework around the door and windows on the outside but it has all been plastered over.

There are also some huge beams supporting the roof and the different floors that would be really beautiful if exposed, but ceilings have been put in that hide them completely.

The inside has been redone in a cheap but clean and modern way.

Like most French houses there are no doorknobs. Instead there are sleeve-ripping handles on every door.
