Sound card

Recently I found my computer was infected with an adware type virus called Winfix. I tried several different scan engines and none of them could even detect it, much less get rid of it.

It was causing more and more problems, and was sending out spam from my computer. So once again I had to reformat my hard disk.

I took the occasion to change from Windows Millenium back to Windows 98. Naturally I had to reinstall all my drivers.

But the driver for my very special soundcard (Maxi Pro-Isis) just refused to be reinstalled.

I have used the card on this same computer witn Windows 98 before. Using exactly the same Windows installation disk and the same disks for the soundcard.

But now I get a message that an initialization routine for an unspecified dll file failed.

I tried reinstalling everything several times and it always failed. I even downloaded a new driver from the internet. But it didn't help.

For now I'm just using a Soundblaster type card but I would sure like to get my Isis studio back up and running.

Any ideas?????
