You know every year most of us, well at least if you are like me, begin racking our brain trying to think; “What shall I get them or them or them for Christmas? “ I don’t know about you, but I absolutely HATE going to the Mall, I really don’t like shopping at all.

So one of the things I do with my relatives is make them things (I love working with wood) that I know they will use and that they need. For example I made my parents some coaters one year out of cedar they were made of two pieces of wood ¾ of an inch thick and glued together, I cut a hole in one. They had cork on the bottom and in the middle for your glass or cup. If you are interested let me know and I can put up some easy plans and pictures. Also you can take two pieces of 1x12 and glue them together and make a cutting board.

My parents still have the cutting board and the coasters I made them. I think it shows more love when you spend your time making something for someone than to just go and buy them a bunch of presents. What do you think? I would love to hear other ideas. Anyone have any?
