(Oscar The Grouch) Nice review, OTG. George's comments good, too. I will say (as I usually do) that from a woman't perspective the violence was more than I had anticipated and I wouldn't recommend it for children under 9. Yes, you got it right, Mincayani was a hunk and Kimo warn't so bad himself. Those guys were not characteristic of Waodani men. But ya hafta give film makers a little leeway. Also, Rachel Saint did NOT look like that actress when she died; she was a hefty woman but did wear her hair in that style. The only thing that I would change, though, was the pace of the movie -- too fast -- and too much trying to be covered in too short a period. I found it hard to keep up with the fast-paced subtitles while trying to watch the action; therefore, I missed some of the details and jokes in the natives' conversation. For example, I didn't catch why it was that Daeyuma's (sp) father thought that the mother wanted to kill her.
There was a good deal of controversy on the End-of-the-Spear MB regarding Chad's homosexuality but the coordinators managed to silence it.
As for Grouch mate's talking, I can relate. We women are just more emotive. I've learned to stuff it for my husband's sake, though.
