Who is a writer?

I have been writing since the age of twelve. I know that if you are reading me in English, you will probably say, that it doesn't show :)))) In my first language though, I have tons of poems and short stories that I have been hidden in my dusty drawers for a long time. I also have a blog in French which I contribute to from time to time.
I was wondering how many of you have been writing and what kind of stuff beside the forum do you write? Why do you write or when you do it?
Or why don't you do it anymore?
