I'll tell ya, what I liked about the original was the horror of the creature, as fake and cheesy as it was. It had a menacing look...and those freeky EYES!

The second Kong was just hokey! You knew he was fake and he inspired more humor than fear

But the NEW KONG...WHOA!! He's as ape-like as you can get. It really helped to use the same technique as with Gollum in LOTR, having a real man play the part with computerized overlay on his image. Andy Serkis had the ape moves DOWN!!
