...it had been years since I'd seen it last and I had a vague memory of not caring too much for it. After seeing it again I know why I didn't like it last time...it had a hopeless tone to it. There was no hope, no reason for the characters to live, pointless existence.
Part of it, too, was that I came from that type of upbringing in a multi ethnic northern steel town and I always felt depressed to think that my life would never move on from there.
