His recently released album, "Daughtry", is selling very well. Taylor Hicks? Who really cares? He IS that drunk lounge singer!
As for Pickler, have you heard the cut from HER new album being played on C&W stations? Not really that great...not even good by MY judgment. But if it sells it may as well be gold because money speaks louder than talent.

And speaking of talent and appearance, do you remember that big African American gal from last year, Mandisa? She was a great talent and did well till, on one episode, the camera caught a rear view shot of her performing. I remember thinking "Oh no! She's TOAST!". And sure enough she was voted off. I really believe that the size of her jeans cancelled out her great voice in the minds of many people. Too bad.
