Musicals: Are you a fan?

Now first let me say this...the Grouch really enjoys music in general but musicals are sometimes hard for me to take. But since the Grouchmate is a BIG fan of them I have been schooled in the finer criticism of rating these escapist forms of film.

One of the Grouchmate's favorite musical stars is a gal named Deanna Durbin. Never heard of her? Well, that's because you are not over 60 years old because she was a "child" star in the late 30's and 40's, and she sings like an angel!!

She starred in a number of movies and then "retired" at a young age to raise a family, but you can still rent some of the films at Blockbuster Video.

One of the videos the Grouchmate owns has a "short" of Deanna and a young Judy Garland singing together at the age of 14! and what a contrast in styles!! Judy sining in her jaz style and Deanna in her classical style. What a treat! If anyone is interested I'll try to capture a frame of these two and post it for you all.
