I always root for the underdog, unless the favorite to win happens to be the home team. Last night, the lowly Giants won out against the snooty Patriots in the national football championship! The last 2 minutes of the game were unbelievable.

Besides the match up, another reason for watching the Superbowl is for the half-time entertainment and commercials, both of which can go over the top as entertainment. The half-time show was Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers. They're old-fashioned rock-and-roll, but the band's sound seemed a bit subdued. It turns out they were lip-syncing! Boooo! Sorry, I like the edginess of a live rock show.

None of the new commercials impressed me much, but then, I was preoccupied with my grandchildren during the commercial breaks. Live entertainment is always best, imo.
