One reason I don't go out to movies much is because husband & I don't agree on what's entertaining. The main disagreement is over violence in movies. I get freaked out by too much violence, while he thrives on all the action. He loved "Sin City," and I almost got up and walked out. About the point I couldn't take any more cinematic beatings, the movie thankfully ended. After that one, I said, never again. We went to see "No Country for Old Men" about two weeks ago, and the violence in that movie didn't really upset me--perhaps because it was balanced by the character played by Tommy Lee Jones.
When I told Ralph I'd be willing to see "There Will Be Blood," it's mainly because my appreciation for Daniel Day Lewis will probably offset the violence that the movie is said to portray. He's is still dubious about whether I'd sit through "Blood" without wincing, complaining, and pulling my hoodie down over my eyes.
