I noticed the same thing. I can't tell if they are playing to the cameras (they're always glancing in the camera direction) or just so tired of seeing hundreds of contestants that they can't help it. It makes them look very mean and insensitive. Simon is always the harshest critic, but in some ways that's good, too.
