For me the key to enjoying sports as a spectator is becoming familiar with the players. My husband hates spectator sports of all kinds, but my son and l love watching basketball b/c of the Spurs. Not just b/c they are our home team but mostly b/c I know something about the players. I used to love watching tennis, which my dad said is like watching paint dry, b/c I enjoyed some of the personalities of the tennis pros.
