TV shows that irritate

Are there any tv programs that your mate or kids watch that drive you
absolutely CRAZY? You know, the ones that always seem to be on when you
are looking forward to a little peace, or maybe when you are planning to sit
down yourself to watch something interesting?

I'm not a big tv watcher. I'd rather read a book, or cruise the web, or even
do a little writing myself rather than sit, slack jawed, eyes glazed, mindlessly
staring at the tube while stuffing my face with some calorie laden, nutrient
deficient snack food.

Well, that's the way I see it when the Grouchmate or kid
Grouch are in control of the remote. I get real self righteous and make some
condescending statement such as "Are you watching that again? How many
times have you seen it?", or "Do you really have to watch that?" Kid
Grouch will usually just ignore me, but the Grouchmate will invite me to sit
down and watch the program with her. Poke me in the eye with a sharp stick!!
I'd rather take an enema rather than watch another installment of Emeril or
Rachael Ray in their kitchens, stirring up some impossibly easy dish that will
never see completion in MY house! If it is past 8 p.m. and I agree to sit with
her then I can be sure that I'll be in dreamland before the dish gets close to
the oven.

Kid Grouch is another story! Like most kids, she will watch something that
she's seen a number of times. To her, it makes no difference, she still
likes to watch it. If I say something like "Kid, you've seen that before, can I
change the channel?", I'll be assaulted with "But daaaad, this is my
favorite part!" It doesn't matter what part she is watching, it is
always
her favorite part! Even as I write this she is watching a movie on
Disney that she's seen at least twice before.

So, here's my list of most annoying tv programs, in no particular order:

  1. Anything with "Celebrities" or "Stars" in it! (Just BORING!)

  2. Oprah (So many sycophants, so few brains)

  3. The Batchelor (SHALLOW!!)

  4. Smart Guy (Disneyish cute 10 yr old in high school)

  5. That's So Raven (That cute little girl, Olivia, on The Cosby Show becomes
    an irritating high schooler)

  6. Commander In Chief (A transparent push for "Hillary for Prez")

  7. Sister Sister (The twin sisters of the Smart Guy get their own show)

  8. Survivor (Hate seeing backstabbing and betrayal when I see it at work
    every day)

  9. Entertainment Tonight (What does it have to do with reality?)

  10. Oprah (Did I mention her yet? She's everywhere!)
