With the play I had to put aside certain prejudices and just let the characters tell their stories. The music was fantastic, and the dancing. One song that one of the girls sang had the phrase Let me out tonight. I kept envisioning her as an alley cat wanting to go howling in the back streets. It was a fabulous totally out-there performance. Another song was La Boheme(sp?). Again, very good.

The big reds singing teacher adapted several of the songs to make them appropriate for middle school performances. The group won several competitions that year singing those songs.

I didn't know the movie had come and gone already. I'll definitely have to see it on DVD.
