(chiming miriam) I like Gaudí. When we lived in Barcelona, I always made a point of walking near his buildings. The Sagrada Familia has a subway stop right next to it; there's a park he designed in Lesseps called Parc Güell, and several homes in the Eixample district. Casa Milá is known as "La Pedrera" -- the quarry -- but it reminds me more of melted ice cream. Casa Batlló is covered with handmade tiles in a bubble pattern. Casa Vincens is covered with another kind of tile. Some of his buildings can be toured for a price (we were always broke!), and one is still in use with stores and businesses on the ground floor and apartments on the upper floors.
