There is very little Christian Music that I care to listen to. To MY ears it always seems like an imitation of whatever musical trend is currently in vogue and I don't listen to contemporary music very much. That doesn't mean that I DON'T listen at ALL, I DO have some in my library that I will put on my MP3 player, such as, Carolyn Arends, PFR, and FFH.
Carolyn Arends is mostly a singer/songwriter who performs her own stuff. Some of it has a high production sound but it is mostly her and a back up band. I guess you'd call it "soft rock".
PFR is a band that broke up a few years ago to spend more family time and follow other directions, but their stuff is reminiscent of late Beatles type of music with a little harder edge. Some of it sounds contrived but there are some cuts that I never tire of hearing, the ones with a driving melody line and tight vocal harmonies. No big guitar solo stuff.
FFH is the complete opposite, totally safe soft rock with great harmonies, but music no self respecting young person would be caught dead listening to. But I like it, so THERE!
