After all of the hype for Brokeback and Transamerica did the Academy get cold feet and go conservative? Or is this how they really felt and that it was the news media who was pushing the other films?
I'm sorry, but I didn't think that Reese was THAT good in "Walk The Line" (see my review below), but then I didn't see any of the other nominees performances to be a fair judge.
I DID see Crash and thought that it was a very good, and disturbing, film, so I have no problem with the "Best Picture" award going to them. Over the next few months I plan on viewing the other films as they are released on dvd, except for Transamerica, which I have no desire to see. A woman playing a man who wants to be a woman? Not MY cup of tea!
