If that ever happens again, I learned someting once from a sister with Fred Flintstone feet.

She had to have her shoes specially made for her. And the shoe guy told her that if she ever found herself in a situation where she had to buy "normal" shoes, to wet a pair of socks, put them on her feet, stick her feet in the shoes and walk around like that till the shoes shaped themselves around her gargantuan toes.

I tried it once and it worked.
