"Use a straw man. Find or create a seeming element of your opponent's argument which you can easily knock down to make yourself look good and the opponent to look bad. Either make up an issue you may safely imply exists based on your interpretation of the issue, or select the weakest aspect of the weakest charges. Amplify their significance and destroy them in a way
which appears to debunk all the charges, real and fabricated alike, while actually avoiding discussion of the real issues.

Its name (strawman defense) is derived from the practice of using straw men in combat training. In such training, a scarecrow is made in the image of the enemy with the single intent of attacking it.
Such a target is, naturally, immobile and does not fight back, and is not as realistic to test skill against compared to a live and armed opponent.
NAPRP loves the strawman defense.
Instead of addressing the specific charges in the video, he tries to invalidate the charges by stating (correctly) that the video was made by scientology.
It is my personal opinion that Scientology's vocal opposition to the psychiatric industry is actually an expressly created strawman defense intended to invalidate all opposition to the pandemic abuses of the psychiatric-drug industry.
They can avoid answering specific charges by bundling all opposition together and blaming it on Scientology, even though that cult had little or nothing to do with the original charges.
It's similar to the way the NWO folks chose Michael Moore to represent the supposed anti-NWO movement. And they chose Mel Gibson to represent christianity. And they chose Cindy Shehan to represent the antiwar movement. And they chose Yassar Arafat to be the only surviving leader of the¨PLO for 3 decades.
The basic idea being that if you pick a clown and then use money and influence to make him the most visible spokesperson of your opposition, you will actually be strengthening your position.
Because nobody will believe the clown, even when he is telling the truth.
