Great topic. I thought I was the only one! Its one of those things you don't really bring up in a crowd, butt when I was in the throes of my pre menopausal days, I thought about it alot. Everything seemed to drive me crazy, including my kids. Their little habits bugged the crap out of me, and I also had perpetually swollen eyes for about 2 years from crying constantly. Waterproof mascara was a must. My kids were ready to send me to Alcatraz, or somewhere far far away. I just sort of muddled through my mid life rollercoaster, and finally pulled out of it somewhat. What a relief. The emotional level I experienced while in the thick of it, I wouldn't wish on anybody.
Practical tips: Exercise, exercise, exercise. There's something about getting those endorphins flowing that really helps. And Porcelain Doll, I think its great that you're asking about this now. I think one of the best things anyone can do who may be getting close to the change of life, is to be educated and know what you might be up against. Some people sail through. I didn't. Some people have easy births. I didn't. What works for some doesn't for others. So its great to learn all you can, and I don't know if it will ultimately help, though it sure couldn't hurt, but nutrition, vitamins, preventative medicine so to speak, are probably good keys to being ready and prepared for it. Don't be scared or fearful!! It felt like hell sometimes going through it, but once its over, its really sort of nice.
