vit C

In Response To: kidneys (Charlie)

Hi Charlie! My computer got itself sick (virus infected) so I've been offline for about 5 days, what a mess! Anyway, I don't know that much about kidneys, I don't know about the vitamin C. Just off hand I would say that anything in excess isn't good for your body, being moderate and keeping a balance is always wise. Perhaps it depends on the type of vit. C. There are likely many vitamin Cs on the market that are not natural, which of course wouldn't be good for your body.

The other thing is, if you take the Vit. C directly, are you also including calcium (I think it's calcium) which your body needs to process the Vit. C? Otherwise the vitamin C wouldn't be properly used by the body and just pass through it. And then you need magnesium to process calcium or else the calcium isn't used by the body.

Rather than relying on the powder or a pill, try to increase your intake of vegetables, herbs and fruits which are high in vitamin c, as they will also have the balances required by your body to absorb it. Japanese or Chinese Green Tea (ocha) is very high in vit C and is a form of vit. C which isn't destroyed by heat. Strawberries, tomatoes, dandelions I believe, are also high in vit. C. I think even potatoes are high in vit. C. but I'd have to check my books.

I have a recipe for passing stones naturally. Oh yes, I advised Lolo to drink parsley tea. Parsley is a dieuretic and has been known to dissolve stones, it causes your body to go pee and flush out your systems, it's good for kidney and bladder related infections.

Just get yourself some parsley from the store, or better yet, grow yourself some in a pot then it will be organic, chop up a tablespoon and brew it for 5 minutes in boiled water, strain, add some honey (a better choice is stevia or pure cane sugar), and lemon juice (from fresh lemons or a pure lemon essential oil), and drink about 3 or more cups a day. Parsley is also high in iron and vit.C. A good herb to have around.

Perhaps this is a too through answer to your short question. I will try to find out about the vit C and kidneys.
