Fluoride In Toothpaste Is Dangerous
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has finally recognized that fluoride in toothpaste IS DANGEROUS. They have issued the following label be printed on toothpaste tubes: "in case of accidental ingestion, seek professional assistance or contact a poison control center immediately." I f you read the label on your toothpaste tube you will find that it states , "Do not swallow. Use only a pea-sized amount for children under six. To prevent swallowing, children under six years of age should be supervised in the use of toothpaste."
The warning is there for a reason. If a child were to accidentally swallow or eat the entire tube of toothpaste there is enough fluoride in there to kill them. Fluoride is a poison and it has no business being in our water or toothpaste. You can search the web (my favorite search engine is metacrawler.com) for fluoride adverse effects and you will be quite surprised at the amount of information regarding this issue that is present.
For most people flossing will be more important than brushing. And a low or no sugar diet will be more important than that for preventing cavities. However, ideally one should do all three. I have learned that the most important contribution to dental problems is the health of the gums. It is wise to try to minimize the number of toxic bacteria and parasites that are there. One of the best ways to do this is by using a mixture of six parts of baking soda to one part of sea salt and using a small amount of that and patting it on one's teeth and brushing with that mixture. This will be very effective at reducing the microbial concentration in the gums. It is also inexpensive and non-toxic, two very wonderful combinations.
