I've been doing some reading on this mineral lately.
It may take some by surprise. Lithium is usually associated with bipolar disorder. I'm not bipolar. My interest in lithium orotate (as opposed to other more toxic forms) has to do with its possible ability to slow the aging process in the brain, and other brain benefits that you'll see in the links that I've posted below. Note that these links are a culmination of searching the web for the best sites available. Some of these sites may not turn out to be that reliable; I haven't had time to go through them in detail to pick out the best ones, as yet.
Great summary page for lithium:

EXCERPT
Question:
I`ve heard of beneficial effects of lithium. I have also heard that lemons and limes are good sources of natural lithium. Is this true? Are there other dietary (vegetables, fruits, etc.) sources of lithium?
Answer:
Thanks for your question. Lithium is a metal that is used in medications such as lithium sulphate to treat depression and manic disorders. From what I could find about lithium, citrus fruits were not listed as sources, but potatoes, dairy products, vegetables, sugar cane and eggs were.
As for `beneficial effects of lithium`, food sources should not be considered a substitute for a prescription of lithium. For more information, contact your health care provider or a pharmacist.
