Tea Tree (Melaleuca) is one of the most versatile oils outside of Lavender. If you are coming down with a cold, dab a bit on your tongue and let it slowly coat your throat, do this every 30 minutes for awhile, you'll be amazed at how quickly it will clear up a sore throat.

Tea tree is an antisceptic, use it to clean cuts, scrapes, and injuries. Gentle enough for children and can be used neet (as long as it is a pure and unadulterated brand, make sure!)

Add a few drops to your rinse cycle to cleanse the clothes, add a few drops to your water bucket when cleaning the house, add some to your rinse for the dishes.

It is also good as a bug repellant, mixed with lemongrass oil, in a base of pure water and some witch hazel. Spray on your skin as needed.

I have used Tea Tree for impetigo with my kids, I use a blend of teatree and rosemary with a bit of clove oil as well for all cuts requiring care, for all sore throats coming on, as a mouth gargle, tea, or just straight in the mouth.

Essential Oils you should keep in your emergency kit:
TeaTree
Lavender
Peppermint
Lemon
