It's not really the scientists who are at fault (I'm a scientist, actually); it's the journalists and lay people who misquote the results... The studies say "no significant link", but, like you said, this only means no one can _prove_ a link, not that a link doesn't exist.
One thing that might cheer you up is that I don't get pimples from Lindt chocolate. My guess is that what I'm allergic to is something in the processing. I don't know. Haven't tracked it yet. Anyway, maybe it'll work for you, too. it's worth a shot. I eat this a lot, and I really don't get pimples from it, but I do from M & Ms and all the regular "cheap" chocolate.
