Personally, I am still skeptical of stuff like this, but since I am starting to understand more how things work, I am beginning to believe that such things are possible. Some people have found a way to connect with the energy that comes from others, and how to use and direct their own energies. I personally don't have such a gift, and neither have I met anyone who does.
I lean toward herbs and essential oils which work to bring the balance back to your cells, sending the messages to your body which it needs to repair itself. I support reflexology, but have not even started to think towards acupuncture, kynesiology, Back Flower remedies, the methods of diagnosis by checking the tongue condition and eye condition (forgot the names), as well as hypnotism.
For me, I have to study something and understand the how, the science of how something is possible, before I can accept it. I never quite accepted the theory about plants and their feelings before, until I read a book about "The Secret Life of Plants" which was quite amazing based on research scientists had done on plants, some very very amazing things, which gives me a scientific foundation to prove a rather supernatural happening.
I have to admit I am starting to believe more in "powers" though, that a person who is in perfect harmony with their own body and nature and the energies around them can detect certain things, but again, I haven't completely studied it so I can't give a scientific based answer.
A few interesting things have happened to me recently though as far as mental abilities go, mostly about contacting others through a mental signal, it's a bit on the weird side:
I got a note from someone asking if I was another person they had known long ago. I responded that I wasn't, but a couple minutes later began thinking about a person I hadn't met up with in years and years, or even thought about. The odd thing was that just a few minutes later, that same person, the one I was just thinking about, ended up being the person who sent me the original note, and she dropped another note in my email that it was her, I was sort of amazed.
Yesterday I wanted to talk to my brother, but he wasn't at home when I called, so I made a mental note "Brother, call me!!" About 30 minutes later the phone rang, and guess who?
So, these were just interesting mental sort of happenings. But I hope I don't start jumping into long robes and crystal balls, that's not me really.
On a note: I personally draw away from anyone who boasts or promotes one thing too loudly. I don't believe there is only one way to healing, but I believe I should just direct people to find the way they are comfortable with. I support essential oils cause I personally believe they work well, but my patient may not be comfortable with it, or it may not suit their situation. It's just my opinion on it.
