Please help me understand the preterist explanation of the sequence of events.
According to Mt 24 the Abomination of Desolation heralds the start of the great tribulation, I understand that preterists feel that was fulfilled in the destruction of Jerusalem.
But then "immediately after the tribulation" it says we will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds of Heaven with power and great glory. And then the angels gather together the elect etc etc.
So does preterism teach that the 2nd coming has already occurred, but had no significant effect on the world, or does it teach that the 2nd coming is separated in time from the tribulation and is still yet to come?
