It lacks your "accent" (I don't mean that as an insult).
The writer's "one-size-fits-all" (past=present=future) interpretation of Revelation misses the mark, IMO. Of course, some parts apply equally to all generations: the admonitions against moral and spiritual compromise, God's faithfulness to persecuted Christians, the New Heavens and New Earth, etc. But specific fulfillments of some things are NECESSARILY consigned to specific time periods. It's not "scriptural" to generalize them away to bring us to some sort of superficial agreement for "unity's sake".
