I think that you raise some important issues. I just posted a response to your comments on the early photo of Pope Benedict. It occurred to me as I was writing that response that there have been a number of posts that might be offensive to exCOGs looking for community here. For example, while I believe that homosexuality is a sin, I don't think that anyone should post articles or make comments that are seen as attacking or mean-spirited. Also, many of us are Christians here but I'm not sure that we always behave in a manner reflective of the character of Christ - me included. I can see that if a Black-exCOG member were to visit this web site and saw a post that used an old Black dialect that s/he might wonder what type of people frequented this board. I think that is partly b/c our society is creating a hyper-sensitivity in its citizens. Personally, I'd hate to see things swing too far toward the PC side, but I would also like to see more thought given to creating a more welcoming atmosphere here. I do believe that we should give these issues more consideration.
