That's true Joel, but the woman at the well was receptive to what Jesus said to her and was not a believer prior to his speaking to her. She didn't teach others false and damaging doctrines and she wasn't a sex pervert to her own kids even making it doctrine. What Berg and Maria did was so much worse that any bible story and they taught it as doctrines in the name of Jesus and Maria continues the insanity.

David from the OT and the Queen of Sheba were people that were actual kings and queens, David of course starting out with contact to the house of Saul and then being chosen to be King in his stead. David Berg was a person raised in a Christian family where he learned that bending the truth was okay for testimony's sake and where he was molested. He didn't start the "Jesus movement" but came on the scene and usurped others that did with his message of being the creme de la creme of Jesus movements, the most sold out and on fire disciples.
Instead, what I saw happening was the militaristic and controlling atmosphere in the COG at that time was firmly embedded in strict and unquestioning obedience to leadership as the watchers for our souls. In that sense WE WERE STUNTED from becoming strong believers and WE WERE THE WEAK ONES. Stronger Christians were able to build a connection with God without a leader telling them how to do it and inserting damaging, severely damaging doctrines that resulted in the deaths of many and the damaging of scores of people.

But what does this have to do with Maria? She is the weakest leader and creator of some of the most deviant doctrine in the name of Christ. The Family International is a small and weak organization and they teach nothing that is strong meat. Just dead devious doctrine. They are predatorial even though many individuals have a conversion confused by her doctrines and in spite of her do some good works.
TFI is associated in the world to criminal organizations. Like skinheads. And worse they taught pedophilia as doctrine. That kind of thing sticks with a child all their life. ALL THEIR LIFE.

David and Bathsheba are not comparable to Berg and Maria. David did some very bad things this is true but he repented of them and was humiliated before all. Berg never did that and Berg taught his deviancies as doctrine in the name of Jesus.
Why hang onto his words and prophecies? One thing you may want to at least consider is that many religions and cults have leaders that have revelations that come to pass and are more accurate than Berg's ever were but does that make them of God, these signs and wonders?

I like what Judy posted above about the difference between Prophets of old that spoke for the people and the DIFFERENCE that occurred after Jesus came in that people can now connect for themselves. There is no longer a place for a prophet. Why was the holy spirit sent? So one man or one woman could interpret it to everyone else? I think not.

From what I remember reading, David of the OT had heavy consequences for his misdeeds incl the loss of his son with Bathsheba for having sent his best friend and her husband to the front lines to die for his lust. Also his children rebelled against him. That was due to his unsavory actions. Much of the beauty in the psalms was the result of his repentance but the result of David Bergs relationship with whatever he was plugged into gave us things like "Demonology", "God's Whores", "God's Witches", "One Wife", "To My Typewriter Queens", "The Marry Time Dream", "Heaven's Girl", and anything positive was largely plagierized in that it was presented as a revelation by Berg but he took it from something already preached in the past before his time.

And what did Bathsheba do? She married the king after her husband was murdered and the king took her like property as happened with women in that day. But the key thing is people REPENTED and that is what the psalms are full of. That and a pure love of God not the distorted lunatic and deviant ravings of a man who thinks he was God's mouthpiece on earth spewing the sickest of doctrines to meet his needs borne of weakness and affecting the smallest of victims. What did Jesus say about hurting children?

Joel, I think you are a very bright person and very sincere but I think you are being strung along by a fantasy you haven't been able to abandon. Imagine what could happen if you could cut that loose and live in the now without Berg's letters?

We were continually in upheaval believing disasters were around every corner and so controlled by fear of an unloving God. It is not easy to come to terms with the investment of something in our lives we believed to be inspired which turned into a nightmare that WAS INSPIRED by Tales from the Darkside.
