Unfortunately, the Greek doesn't make a
distinction between "coming" and "presence".
The word is still "parousia".
Perhaps, but then that would mean that the word "presence" is insufficient to convey the entire meaning and "coming" would be the best choice.
I agree. Jesus was talking about THE event
of all history! That's why all the "collapsing universe" language is used.
But it's symbolism.
Their Jewish world was going to come crashing down.
Everything that could be shaken was about to be shaken, so that the unshakeable could be set up in its place (He. 12:27).
Well don't look now, but that universe didn't collapse entirely. In fact's it's stronger than it ever was before and on the verge of ruling the world at the moment.
Thank God Jesus will come back to stop it.
