Maria described Styrian as a "beautiful spirit being" that travels in whirlwinds.
The most famous "styrian" is a female vampire named Camilla (or Carmella).
and sometimes vampires are said to travel in whirlwinds.
"Anchanchu, (is) a “vampire fairy” known to the Aymará Indians of Peru. “He travels in whirlwinds,”...n “and seduces his victims with pleasant smiles before draining their strength and blood.”

Sound's like a cult leader doesn't he?
This may be coincidence, but I doubt it.
Maria is very strongly into demonism. Look at Tamar's artwork commissioned by Maria.
And we mustn't forget the Family's ties to J. Gordon Melton who is totally demented into vampirism.
I think Maria may have joined Melton's club and that she knew the vampire link when she invented "Styrian".
