I haven't noticed any change in the meaning of the word antichrist.

I think it simply means "against Christ" so that anyone who actively fights against the gospel of Christ is by definition antichrist.

As for "The Antichrist" (the man of sin).
The title Antichrist doesn't appear in the Bible but the "person" does.
