Not the Navy or the CIA. These things have occurred in areas as this one in recorded history. It is rare but not impossible. The truth is that there is a history of earthquake activity in the south USA including Louisiana and Texas and some that were significant as recently as the mid sixties in Louisiana. I looked into it (earthquake history of the area) after getting the message of the earthquake and posting here.
