The "great Whore" is "That great CITY" 17:18 The inhabitants OF the earth "fornicated" with all "her merchandise" 18:11. This "corrupted" or "destroyed" or "polluted the earth itself.

Same Idea as "The Whore" The Earth or land is made to serve the desires of the beast but this is NOT morally wrong the earth/land cannot make moral choice but the inhabitants of the earth can.
