There is Mental/Emotional pain Yes--but that is all SUBJECTIVE. There is as yet NO biological marker to diagnose any Psychiatric "disease".

But the pain is SUBJECTIVE, in-other-words the doctor says how do YOU feel. He has no biological test to give you to arrive at his diagnosis. You're right to call it "Serotonin theory" because it is NOT FACT. In-other-words it is just some guys/gals guess. All the talk about biochemical imbalances is sheer speculation aimed at promoting psychiatric drugs. ... science has almost no understanding of how the widespread serotonin system functions in the brain.
